An Introduction to Floriography
In this casual hands on class you’ll learn a general history of Victorian Era phenomenon of Floriography and Tussie Mussies, and then you’ll create your own keepsake arrangement tied with vintage ribbons. I will also demonstrate a variety of ways to arrange, wrap, and preserve your flowers. The floral arrangement you create is yours to keep!
You’ll also have the opportunity to browse and purchase vintage vases and other floral containers. (optional. cash or Venmo only.)
An Introduction to Pressed Flowers
Fresh flowers can be used to create a delightful variety of crafts and keepsakes. I’ll teach you what flowers are best for pressing and the optimal press conditions for blooms. From there I will continue with one of these various class options including but not limited to: nature walk to identify flowers for pressing, building your own pocket sized press, creating a bookmark complete with a vintage ribbon for extra flair or making a small botanical work of art using a tiny hanging frame. [All materials are provided.] The finished creation will be yours to keep! You’ll also receive an information packet to with class details and for note taking.
